Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine Debuts $6 Martini Tuesdays At Pendry San Diego In Gaslamp Quarter

Downtown San Diego’s Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine is introducing a new weekly incentive for martini lovers looking to stretch their midweek dining budget without sacrificing atmosphere.

The Gaslamp Quarter restaurant has rolled out “Martini Tuesdays,” offering $6 martinis with the purchase of an entrée every Tuesday from 5 to 9pm. The promotion is positioned as a post-work unwind or casual night-out option inside the Pendry San Diego dining room.

The discounted martini lineup includes an espresso martini, lemon drop martini, dirty martini, and a rotating seasonal selection. The first featured specialty cocktail in rotation was a passionfruit martini. The pricing applies with entrée purchase during the designated hours.

Lionfish, which opened in 2017, is helmed by Executive Chef Jose “JoJo” Ruiz, who has previously been recognized by the James Beard Foundation as a Smart Catch Leader for sustainable seafood practices at both Lionfish and its sister concept Serẽa. The Smart Catch program evaluates restaurants on responsible seafood sourcing, with fewer than two dozen California restaurants historically earning the designation at any given time.

Chef Ruiz’s menu at Lionfish leans into modern coastal cuisine, with dishes spanning fresh-catch seafood and prime cuts. Current dinner offerings include roasted truffle chicken with truffle butter and sourdough crust, an “angry” whole grilled fish finished with Thai basil and fermented chili, and a 36-ounce blue crab-crusted Black Opal Wagyu tomahawk served with butter-braised asparagus and béarnaise. Sushi, raw bar selections, and shareable plates round out the menu.

Lionfish is located inside Pendry San Diego at 435 Fifth Avenue in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. The restaurant is open from 5 to 9pm Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 10pm Friday and Saturday. Martini Tuesdays will run weekly from 5 to 9pm on Tuesdays. For more information, visit LionfishSD.com.
