November 14, 2013

San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter hotel has announced the addition of new venue “City Sights” to the hotel’s famed ALTITUDE Sky Lounge, the highest rooftop bar on the West Coast at 22 floors above street level. The expansion of ALTITUDE Sky Lounge to include City Sights will result in nearly 360-degree views as well as an ability to enjoy year-round gatherings and events on the hotel’s award-winning rooftop. City Sights is expected to complete construction in mid-December 2013.

Located on the north side of ALTITUDE Sky Lounge, City Sights will be identified by a glass-enclosed balcony providing panoramic views of downtown San Diego and beyond. Additional features will include glass sliding doors that fully open to the balcony, an indoor socializing area complete with separate bar, modern modular furniture that can be adjusted for special events and bookings, and high top communal tables for those enjoying a drink on the balcony.

The addition of City Sights will provide business travelers, tourists and locals with spectacular new views of San Diego. City Sights will also make for a choice destination for meetings and events, with amenities including a drop down projection screen and blackout shades to enhance presentations on even the sunniest San Diego days.

“Everyone here is excited about the addition of City Sights to ALTITUDE,” said Jim Durbin, general manager of San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter. “ALTITUDE has been a favorite with both visitors and locals since its opening, and now, with the addition of City Sights, it can be a year-round destination for everyone who has or would like to enjoy our incredible views and atmosphere.”
