Table No. 10 Opening in Late April in East Village at Space Previously Occupied by The Corner

April 3, 2014
The East Village is expecting and this April, Table No. 10 delivers. The new restaurant at 369 10th Avenue arrives in just a few weeks located conveniently across the street from Petco Park. This is the first foray into restaurant ownership for Executive Chef Jason Gethin (formerly from Union Kitchen + Tap Encinitas). Partnered with Cooper McLaughlin who previously owned the location's previous inhabitant, The Corner, the duo gutted the inside of the building together. During the remodel, Gethin and McLaughlin got their hands dirty to ensure design and function emulated the long-time vision for the space.

Gethin’s gourmet modern American fare rules the menu. He cites influences from various regions of the country and a variety of techniques perfected by years of experience. Excite your taste buds with selections like the halibut with manila clam broth, melted leeks, red curry and sea beans or try the vegetarian-friendly mushrooms and grits topped with grilled ramp vinaigrette and parmesan.

McLaughlin and bar manager Cory Alberto created an original cocktail program, combining house made tonics and sodas with top tier spirits for flavors you’ll only find at Table No. 10. The cocktail menu currently includes eight signatures and the restaurant vibes off servers and bartenders suggestions for customized concoctions. No mass-market soda or tonic here, with one exception - Mexican Coca-Cola. And that’s only because McLaughlin insists on it.

What’s in a name? Table No. 10 refers to the chef’s table, located adjacent to the kitchen. It’s ideal for observing Gethin’s curious approach to intriguing cuisine. And you guessed it. It’s a table for ten.
