Ponsaty's Is Now Open At Former Delicias Space In Rancho Sante Fe

The Grand Restaurant Group's Corporate Executive Chef Patrick Ponsaty has opened his namesake restaurant at the former Delicias space at 6106 Paseo Delicias in Rancho Sante Fe. Ponsaty has an all-star culinary team of classically trained French chefs joining him in the kitchen, including Executive Chef of Ponsaty’s, Alain Delahaye and Corporate Pastry Chef Bruno Albouze of YouTube’s “The Real Deal Cooking Channel.”

Operated by The Grand Restaurant Group, which also owns Bellamy's Restaurant in Escondido and The Ranch at Bandy Canyon, Ponsaty’s combines elements of classic French and Spanish cuisines with an upscale yet comfortable dining experience.

Signature dish selections on Ponsaty's summer menu include Californian burrata and Serrano jam with shaved local vegetables; Baja scallops with Bandy Canyon Ranch carrots featuring tri-color baby carrots, orange blossom and garbanzo-orange sauce; and Veal Cheeks with orange, roasted shallot, candied carrot puree and Madeira wine sauce. 

Ponsaty’s also offers an impressive selection of handcrafted cocktails, more than 300 wines and one of San Diego’s most dynamic scotch lists featuring more than 50 different scotches. Guests can also enjoy the main bar area and more casual dining experiences on the front and back patios. Ponsaty’s will be open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, and will also offer a Sunday brunch menu.

Chef Patrick Ponsaty is a 5th generation chef, hailing from Southern France. Ponsaty began cooking early in his life at the age of 15, developing his craft at Michelin-accredited restaurants in Monaco and Spain before relocating to New York. Ponsaty ventured to San Diego in the late 1990s to assist chef Jean-Michel Diot open Tapenade restaurant, before moving on to the position of chef de cuisine at the El Bizcocho restaurant at Rancho Bernardo Inn. In 2003, Ponsaty opened Bernardo’O restaurant in Rancho Bernardo. He soon moved on to La Bastide in Scripps Ranch, then Loews Coronado Bay Resort before joining The Grand Restaurant Group in 2013. Along with Bernard Guillas of The Marine Room, Ponsaty is one of only two French Master Chefs in San Diego.
