Carve Modern Deli & Beer Now Open In San Diego's Serra Mesa Neighborhood

March 21, 2017

Now open on the base floor of the Broadstone Corsair resort-inspired apartment building in San Diego's Serra Mesa neighborhood is Carve Modern Deli & Beer, a chef-driven artisan sandwich restaurant and craft beer bar.

Carve Owner Chris Karetas is an SDSU alumni with more than 15 years of professional cooking experience, from fine dining restaurants to catering social gatherings. A graduate of California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Chef Chris spent most of his culinary career as the Executive Chef & Senior Event Planner at Carriage Trade Catering in La Jolla.

Carve claims to be a modern approach to the classic deli experience, with all meats smoked, roasted, braised and grilled, in house, using only the highest quality meats, poultry and seafood, as well as locally sourced produce. In addition to stacked sandwiches, the restaurant also serves creative salads, shared plates, make-a-plate options, burgers, 12 craft beers on tap, and wines from around the world.

Sandwiches on the menu at Carve include the Smokin 'Strami with hickory smoked beef brisket pastrami topped with Swiss cheese, slaw, pickles and Russian Dressing on toasted ciabatta bread, and the Aero Club with oven roasted turkey breast, thick cut maple bacon, avocado, tomato and parmesan aioli on toasted ciabatta. From the shared plates, the Carve 'Strami Fries look incredible, as do the fried mac 'n cheese balls with stout aioli. Carve also serves brunch on Sundays, serving a menu of egg-based dishes and pancakes.

Carve is located at 8583 Aero Drive in the Broadstone Corsair apartment complex in Serra Mesa. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11am to 9pm, Saturday from 11am-3pm, and Sunday for brunch from 11am-3pm. For more information, visit carvesd.com and check out the menus below.
