Coin Op Game Room Plans Downtown San Diego Location

May 2, 2017

We've received word that Coin Op Game Room is bringing its arcade gastropub concept to downtown San Diego, soon taking over the space at 789 Sixth Avenue that is currently occupied by Crazy Goose Bar & Lounge for its second area location.

Owned by Has Mahmood, Roy Ledo and Eric Lockeridge, who also operate San Diego's The Lion’s Share, Coin Op started in the North Park neighborhood in fall 2013 and now has locations in Sacramento and a recently launched San Francisco outpost. Coin Op is in the process of taking over the 7,180 square-foot space in downtown San Diego that has been occupied by Crazy Goose since September 2015.

Coin Op is expected to renovate the ample downtown space with a modern industrial design and fill it with arcade games, including pinball machines and retro consoles like Ms. Pacman, Galaca, NBA Jam, Street Fighter II and many more. Behind the bar, expect a devotion to local craft beers and creative cocktails. There will also be a food menu designed by Lion Share Chef Mark Bolton with approachable bar food and shareable plates. The barcade will likely introduce a secret bar in Crazy Goose's former VIP lounge akin to the Tron Speakeasy sited within the San Francisco location.

Coin Op Game Room ambitiously hopes to open its downtown San Diego location by Comic-Con weekend. For more information, visit coinopsd.com.
