The owners of SD TapRoom in Pacific Beach are in the process of construction TapRoom Beer Company, a 5,000 square-foot, 7 barrel brewery and pub heading to San Diego's University Heights neighborhood for a late 2017/early 2018 debut.
Brothers Kevin & Kyle Conover opened SD TapRoom at 1269 Garnet Avenue in PB over a decade ago, devoted to the art of craft beer before the concept was cool. The duo will soon get deeper into the brew game with the launch of TapRoom Beer Company, a seven barrel brewery headed by former Mikkeller Brewing brewer Bill Batten, who also had a 15 year tenure at AleSmith Brewing Company. In addition to a full brewhouse pumping out an eclectic array of beer styles, TapRoom Beer will also have an adjacent brewpub that will feature 50 taps of craft beer, a mezzanine beer cellar, an ample outdoor beer garden, and likely a menu of pub fare.
