Pacific Beach Fish Shop Team To Open Point Loma Location

December 3, 2017

The team behind Pacific Beach Fish Shop thinks that they can compete with the classic Point Loma seafood spots! Heading into the space that last housed the short-lived Hollow Point Ale House is Point Loma Fish Shop, the fourth location of the fast-casual seafood eatery and bar.

The Fish Shop brand has been trying to keep up with customer demand at its original Pacific Beach restaurant since first dropping anchor in 2010. Since then, co-owner Bill Ramirez has popped up Fish Shop outposts in Encinitas and Hermosa Beach, but the Point Loma branch may be the riskiest yet. Anticipated to open in early 2018, the Point Loma eatery will sit minutes from two other very similar San Diego seafood institutions - Point Loma Seafood and Mitch's Seafood.

Like other Fish Shops, the 2,200-square-foot Point Loma's location will be a counter-service restaurant centered around fresh fish available for onsite dining or take-away from a glass seafood case, offered to be customized with a bunch of seasonings and sauces and served as a taco, sandwich, salad or plate (see Blue Water Seafood). Behind the bar, expect a dedication to local craft beer, as well as a value-oriented $5 corkage fee so that customers can bring in their own wine. The restaurant will also offer a dog-friendly patio.

Point Loma Fish Shop will sit at 1110 Rosecrans St #100 in San Diego's historic fishing neighborhood and is expected to debut by February 2018. For more information, visit thefishshoppb.com and check out the menu below.
