Normal Heights music venue Soda Bar has been sold to a group that includes entertainment and dining veteran Tim Mays of Little Italy's Casbah and Starlite.
Adam Cook and Cuong Nguyen, who have owned Soda Bar since it opened in 2008, have sold the venue to Big Soda LLC, which is made up of Casbah, Starlite, Krakatoa Cafe, Riviera Supper Club owner Tim Mays, talent booker Cory Stier, bar manager Angie Ollman, and recording engineer Andrew Montoya. New ownership does not plan to make many changes other than small cosmetic upgrades.
Soda Bar will continue to operate nightly from 8:30pm-2am with constant live music acts and a full bar. The venue is located at 3615 El Cajon Boulevard. For more information, call 619.255.7224 and visit sodabarmusic.com.
