Las Vegas-Based Juicy Burgers Opening More San Diego Locations

April 14, 2024

Las Vegas-based Juicy Burgers is opening more branches around San Diego, including in Hillcrest and the SDSU College Area.

Although the company claims its corporate headquarters is in Las Vegas, NV, according to its website, Juicy Burgers was founded by Nick Walpert in 1978 in San Diego. Besides the branch in San Diego's North Park that opened last year, the only other location to ever exist is a since-closed branch in Las Vegas. The company plans additional franchise eateries across the nation and is reportedly developing outposts in Miami, Dallas, Denver, Houston, and Orlando.

Juicy Burgers is taking over the space in San Diego's Hillcrest that last housed Breakfast Bitch, which closed down last fall following a federal conviction and imposition of a multi-year prison sentence against its owner. Another Juicy Burgers restaurant is in the works to install on the base floor of The Rive student housing center near the San Diego State University campus.

At Juicy Burgers, the menu is centered around create-your-own burgers with a variety of patties, toppings, sauces, and cheese, as well as signature burgers, wings, a variety of appetizers and desserts. The San Diego branches also offer beer and wine.

Juicy Burgers is expected to open this summer at 3825 Fifth Avenue in Hillcrest and 6345 El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego's College Area. For more information, visit juicyburgers.net.
