Good Time Design Announces Opening of Block No. 16 Union & Spirits | Friday, July 20th

July 18, 2012

Good Time Design, the all-encompassing restaurant and entertainment venue design and consulting firm, will officially open its newest venture, Block 16 No. Union & Spirits, on Friday, July 20th.  The new venue debuted with a soft opening on Friday, June 29th. The multi-level entertainment space is located in downtown’s East Village in the famed Culy Warehouse and next door to the recently opened Lucky’s Lunch Counter.  Block No. 16 Union & Spirits has a commanding 10,000 square-foot presence and is set to quickly become one of the hottest nightlife destination in downtown San Diego.

With a total building capacity of 2,200, the venue will eventually showcase live music on Thursday nights, including both classic and indie rock, country and electronic. DJs are on deck every Friday and Saturday night to provide non-stop music for the crowd.  Block No. 16 Union & Spirits rivals Southern California's premier nightclubs and music spaces with elements such as a 35'x25' LED wall, a massive stage and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems.  Booths line the walls of the substantial space with four staircases leading up to parallel mezzanines adjoined by a catwalk where guests can take in the performances from above.

Block No. 16 Union & Spirits will celebrate its official arrival to the downtown nightlife scene with a Grand Opening Party on Friday, July 20th starting at 9pm (flyer copied below). Guests can experience the new and dynamic after-dark East Village destination with DJs, dancing, specialty cocktails and spirits. For the best seats in the house, guests can reserve VIP booths by contacting [email protected].

Near Royale
Veering away from the over-saturated bottle service model expected in most downtown nightlife venues, Block No. 16 is revolutionizing the way guests enjoy cocktails by offering unique drink packages and floating hospitality hosts.  The drink packages consist of clever pairings such as the “Silver Revolver,” which includes a Coors Light and a shot of Crown Royal, and the “Near Royale,” which consists of a bottle of champagne and four shots of Chambord. Purchasing these packages easily allows guests to order drinks for their entire group while also quickly reaching the minimum for the private booths - the best seats in the house
