SoCal's The Dirty Heads join Matisyahu at Humphreys Concerts By The Bay | Wednesday, September 19th

September 12, 2012

The Dirty Heads and Matisyahu continue their co-headlining tour, making their way across America with a scheduled stop at San Diego's picturesque Humphreys Concerts By The Bay venue on Wednesday, September 19th.  Don't miss the opportunity to Dance All Night with The Dirty Heads and Matisyahu as they rock out Shelter Island.

In anticipation of the tour, Dirty Heads teamed up with their tour mate Matisyahu for “Dance All Night,” the second single from their Top 20 album Cabin By The Sea, which was globally released June 19th on Five Seven Music.  The band’s second album debuted at #18 on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart (their highest chart position to date), #3 on the “Independent Albums” chart, #4 on the “Alternative Albums” chart and #9 on the “Digital Albums” chart.

The Dirty Heads
The Dirty Heads debut album, Any Port in a Storm, featured one of the decade’s biggest rock singles, “Lay Me Down” (which spent eleven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Chart, a record for an independent release and more than any single that year by anyone, including The Black Keys, Kings of Leon and 30 Seconds to Mars) and a shout-out in Rolling Stone as one of year’s best new bands.

Dance All Night” (which can be heard below) is the follow-up to “Spread Too Thin,” which debuted on Billboard’s “Alternative Songs” chart at #13 with a cumulative audience of over 40 million listeners.  In a review of “Dance All Night,” Diffuser.fm’s Joe Robinson wrote:  “…the collaboration may seem spiritually a bit out of whack — but musically it totally makes sense…’Crushed it’ are the words of (singer Jared) Watson and not necessarily ones that should show up in a review of one of the band’s own songs, but we’re including them because he’s dead-on right.

Matisyahu - recently clean-shaven
Matthew Paul Miller, better known as by his Hebrew name Matisyahu, is an American reggae and alternative rock musician. He is well known for blending traditional Jewish themes with rock, hip hop, beat boxing and reggae. Since 2004, he released three albums, two live albums, two remix CDs and two live DVD concerts. Many people know his famous song "One Day, " which was used in advertisements for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Matisyahu's 2005 single "King Without a Crown" was also a Top 40 hit in the United States.

We've seen both The Dirty Heads and Matisyahu live, and this concert is not one to be missed. Separately, they were awesome so we are especially psyched to experience the mashing of amazing voices and rhythmic beats.  We've never seen a concert at Humphreys, mainly because the talent offered is usually more suited for an older crowd, so we are especially excited that the venue is hosting such a relevant, youthful, uplifting ticket.

For more information on the concert, visit Humphreys' website, and to purchase tickets, visit Ticketmaster.  Humphreys Concerts By the Bay is located at 1 Shelter Island Drive, San Diego, CA 92106.
