Surf Meets Sips as the San Diego Wine Show rolls into Del Mar Fairgrounds the weekend of September 29-30th

September 6, 2012

Venture to the world-renowned Del Mar Fairgrounds on September 29th and 30th to sample hundreds of selections from some of the Pacific Coast’s finest wineries, including Freemark Abbey, Orfila Vineyards, South Coast and many more at the San Diego Wine Show. Savor wonderful whites and refreshing reds while schmoozing with sommeliers about all things wining and dining.

Wine—one of life’s little luxuries. While the majority of us love it, most of us would be hard-pressed to pick the perfect meal pairing, spot those subtle flavors and notes or even decipher the difference between a Malbec and Merlot.  This year’s San Diego Wine Show has something for amateur imbibers and carafe connoisseurs alike.

Still, the benefits of the event merely begin with the bottle. Soak up the Southern California sun while songstress Meliesa McDonell serenades you with live music. Settle in under the big tent for creative cooking demos and scrumptious samples from famed chefs such as Rocky Fino, author of the award-winning “Will Cook for Sex” cookbook. Or, simply stroll the paddock and peruse a bountiful buffet of cigars, olive oil, cheeses, chocolates and other irresistible gourmet items that creatively complement the vast variety of vino on hand. Plus, the fairground’s new toast of the town, 17 Hands restaurant, will be open during event hours to ensure you can dabble in drinks with a comfortably-curbed appetite.

It may not be horseracing, but you can place your money on uncorking the excitement at the San Diego Wine Show. With the amount of fanfare and fun in store, it’s a safe bet.
