Raise a flute as the nation bows down to bubbles on Friday, October 26th---the Champagne Bureau USA has designated this special day as a global recognition of the quintessential effervescent. San Diego's acclaimed CUCINA urbana in Bankers Hill will celebrate Champagne Day in true form with a limited-edition tasting and artisan pairing menu. Wine Director, and Level 1 Court of Master Sommelier, Samantha Gabryelski has selected three exquisite champagnes, each with a unique profile, to properly pay homage. $25 for (3) pours available October 25th-28th only.

For those craving CUCINA urbana's signature Italian fare to pair, Executive Chef Joe Magnanelli will offer a Antipasti Board Pairing for an additional $12. In addition, Executive Pastry Chef Jack Fisher will present 3 distinct artisan chocolates to pair with the flight at $6 per person.

SPARKLINGS:
"The Vintage": Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage Brut 2002: Powered by racy acidity, this shows well-structured elegance, partnering rich texture with flavors of quince paste, poached apple, white peach, graphite, almond and smoke. Offers fine focus and length, with a hint of citrus on the lingering finish.

"The Dry": Billecart Extra Brut NV: Complex and seductive aromas of dried fruits and brioche combined with floral notes. This is further enhanced by the subtle charm of lemon verbena. Charming biscuity flavor and white fruits with a full and harmonious minerality resulting in a sensational balanced finish. A new definition of a refined style. A surprising association with the finest dishes (veal carpaccio, scallops a la plancha and marinated raw fish with citrus fruits).

"The Dessert": Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec NV: Boasting a brilliant yellow color with deep golden highlights, this champagne offers delicate bubbles and an intense nose of ripe fruit with hints of brioche. It is supple and full on the palate, while preserving its delightful, inherent freshness. Good with fruit or cream based desserts - salted creme brulee.
