Cafe Japengo Offers Prix Fixe Menu and a Duo of Staycation Packages this New Year's Eve

December 7, 2012

Cafe Japengo, the award-winning sushi and Asian fusion restaurant located in the Aventine lifestyle complex, has announced a special New Year’s Eve prix fixe dinner in addition to two all-encompassing packages for New Year’s Eve celebrators. Packages will include the staycation-style “Japengo Dine and Stay” and “Dance and Stay” options.

Cafe Japengo’s New Year’s Eve prix fixe dinner will be created by Executive Chef Jay Payne and Executive Sushi Chef Jerry Warner and will be priced at $59 per person. With a choice of starter, entrée and dessert, menu highlights will include: Curry Calamari in Thai Lime Vinaigrette, Braised Pork Belly in a Steamed Bao Bun, Organic Salmon with Vegetables in a Port Demi Glace, and Grilled Flat Iron Steak and Prawns with Forbidden Rice and Suzie’s Farm Vegetables. Chocolate Lava Cake or Tempura Banana with Vanilla Gelato and Raspberry and Mango Sorbet with Fresh Fruit will round out the night’s experience. Vegetarian options will be available upon request and Cafe Japengo’s regular Pacific Rim and sushi menus will be available.

The “Dance and Stay” package ($179) and “Japengo Dine and Stay” package ($299) will grant guests a hotel room at Hyatt Regency La Jolla—complete with a bottle of celebratory champagne—through the night of December 31. Additional benefits will include admission to the New Year’s countdown party at Michael’s Lounge, located inside the hotel. This party will include a DJ, dancing, party favors, late night dessert buffet and balloon drop at midnight. Following the night’s celebrations, guests will be able to partake in a complimentary breakfast buffet for two at Barcino Grill, also inside Hyatt Regency La Jolla.

Those who purchase the “Japengo Dine and Stay” package will receive all aforementioned benefits, plus dinner for two at Cafe Japengo, with a choice of either the New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu or a $59 per person credit toward the regular menu.
