This New Year’s Eve, Where's Your Party At? | The Most Epic Round Up of New Year's Eve Parties and Specials All Around San Diego

December 17, 2012

So, in making it past the last day of the Mayan calendar, we have a lot to celebrate going into the new year, as survival is definitely cause for jubilation.  While sending off 2012 stylishly might depend on your budget or entertainment preferences, it is best to devise a plan early and determine the perfect place to ring in the New Year.  We have compiled info on all the best New Year's Eve parties and specials all around San Diego, so check out our, albeit super long, list.

We've been so kind to section off the NYE parties and specials by area for your convenience.  Pick wisely.

Downtown (Gaslamp, Little Italy, East village, etc)

Ty Hauter of Good Time Design is hosting San Diego's only NYE block party! This unique New Year's Eve block party option is not being done by anyone in San Diego, mainly because GTD is one of the only entertainment groups that owns enough venues in one area to do this. The group is building an Entertainment Alley in East Village, which is made evident by this concept.  Party goers get access to 5 Venues with 1 Ticket and can spend their entire evening with Good Time Design, start with a casual beer at Bub's, walk over to The Blind Burro for dinner then enter the Cat Eye Club, (opens on NYE), go to Block 16 to ring in the New Year and grab a late night bite to eat at Lucky's after the party. The ticket gets you the following:  Entrance to Block 16 featuring DJ Z Trip to ring us into 2013; The Blind Burro: front of the line privileges/ 10% off your meal/ $2 off the House Margarita;  Bub’s at the Ballpark: front of the line privileges/ 20% off your meal/ Beer & Shot special for $7;  Cat Eye Club: Drink Specials; and Lucky’s Lunch Counter: 20% off your meal.  The Block Party will not be oversold so guests will have easy access to bars and servers.  Here is a link for tickets, which are $50 but will go up to $75 as the date nears.

FLUXX Nightclub is known for throwing epic New Year's Eve-worthy bashes every weekend, so San Diegans should expect the ultimate party to ring in 2013! FLUXX's NYE "Champagne Ball" will be the hottest and sexiest party in San Diego on December 31st. New Years Eve at Fluxx will feature beats by DJ Ikon and a traditional champagne toast at midnight as the ball drops. Champagne showers guaranteed. Tickets are available online.

Roll into 2013 at RA Sushi with a night of New Year’s themed food and drink specials, including the “RA”solution Roll and Midnight Kiss signature cocktail. There will be a champagne toast and live DJ’s will be spinning the latest hits from 7 p.m. to close at this free party with no line and no cover.

The barkeeps at downtown's El Dorado Cocktail Lounge will pay tribute to the 1980's classic flick Back to the Future with their "Enchantment Under The Sea" NYE party. Featuring the sweet tunes of DJs Don't Go Jason Waterfalls, Saul Q, Adam Salter and Mike Delgado, the night features El Dorado's newly released lineup of winter cocktails for $9 each, plus their newest lineup of libations -- an innovative craft shot trio priced at $12. Imbibers will also have the option of purchasing $25 bottles of champagne all night alongside the regular cocktail menu. El Dorado's NYE event is open to the public, age 21+, with a $20 cover at the door.

Located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, The Commons, will be celebrating New Years Eve with $20 general admission at the door or $60 for those who would like to enjoy VIP hosted apps of kicked up bar fare and celebratory drinks in the game room from 8 pm to midnight with private bar and bartender, including a champagne toast at midnight. For New Years Day, celebrate with The Commons' morning after brunch, where guests have the choice to go naughty with the Southern Bowl featuring cheddar buttermilk biscuits, fried chicken strips and scrambled eggs all smothered in sausage gravy or go nice with granola and yogurt.
