Whether You've Been Bad or Good, Santa Mile is Coming | Benefitting Pacific Beach’s Holiday Parade on Dec. 15!

November 23, 2013

Dust off your Santa hats and put on your stockings! Pacific Beach has a new reason why it is the place to be this holiday season. On Sunday December 15, Santa Mile is taking over Garnet Avenue for a 1 mile community run to benefit Pacific Beach’s Holiday Parade and collect toy donations for the holiday season.

There are so many ways to celebrate the holiday season in San Diego, and Santa Mile should be at the top of your list. The inaugural event will take the term “Fun Run” to a whole new level, with multiple waves of Santa-style craziness happening all day. Race waves will include Santa’s Sled Wave dedicated to owners of ElliptiGO bikes, Santa’s Elves Wave for the kids, Santa’s Little Helper Wave for dog owners and their best friends, Speedy Santa Wave for the more competitive Santas, and ending with Santa Wave Fun Run for everyone to participate and show their holiday spirit.

Be sure to come decked out from head to toe in your best Santa gear for this awesome community event. Each participant will receive his or her very own Santa Mile Santa hat with registration ($15 until November 30 and $18 through December 15). Prizes will be awarded to competitive racers in each age group, and all participants will receive a finishing time at the end of the race. Awards will also be presented for best and most creative Santa costumes.

The Santa Mile is a proud supporter of the Pacific Beach Holiday Parade, which will be taking place just after the races end at 2:15 pm. There will also be a Toy Drive donating to local youths-in-need organizations in San Diego, so be sure to bring an unwrapped toy to the event to give back to our wonderful community. The event welcomes volunteers and will also be featuring a variety of street vendors.

Be sure not to miss out as Santas of all shapes, ages and sizes take over downtown PB for a day of fun, prizes, and holiday spirit! The holiday season is a beautiful time in San Diego, so come be a part of the city’s newest “must-do” event. The Santa Mile kicks off at 10:30 am on December 15 at Garnet Ave and Bayard St.
