Coyote Ugly to Open in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter on February 5 | Bartender Auditions are Set for January 25th and 26th

January 8, 2014

Things are about to get ugly in San Diego. Coyote Ugly Saloon founder Liliana "Lil" Lovell announced today the most famous bar on the planet is opening on February 5 in the historic Gaslamp Quarter. The popular chain’s first Southern California outpost will be located at 820 5th Avenue, taking over the space previously occupied by Frauds and Swindlers. In order to find the appropriate staff (see photo to right), Lovell will host auditions for bartenders on January 25 and 26 from noon to 5 p.m. at the saloon.

“We are in search of girls who can keep a beat, pour a drink, and look good doing it,” said Lovell.  “Our bartenders are known for making the customers a part of the Coyote Ugly experience.  So, the right applicants will have a wide range of talents such as flair bartenders, dancers, singers, musicians and comedians. This is a once in a lifetime chance to work in the world’s most well-known bar and we are ready to rock the Gaslamp!”

Applicants must be 21 and apply in person. Come dressed to impress in closed toed shoes. Better yet, wear your boots! Coyote Ugly will train the right applicants.

The bartenders at Coyote Ugly serve a little bit of attitude with the drinks and are known for their dance routines on top of the bar. Lovell opened the first Coyote Ugly Saloon in New York's East Village in 1993. In 2000, the movie "Coyote Ugly", which was based on the New York Coyote Ugly Saloon, was released and went on to gross over $100M worldwide. Today there are 23 locations in 5 different countries, with more on the way.

Coyote Ugly will be open from 11am-2am seven days a week for lunch, dinner and its world renowned entertainment. To learn more, visit coyoteuglysaloon.com and connect with Coyote Ugly Saloon on Facebook. For details or more information, email [email protected].
