¡Latin Food Fest! San Diego Announces 2014 Grand Tasting Village Agenda | September 13

March 30, 2014

Last year's Latin Food Fest Grand Tasting
¡LATIN FOOD FEST! returns to San Diego September 11 - 13, 2014 for another star-studded Latin culinary extravaganza – and announces the agenda for its signature event, Northgate Markets Grand Tasting Village, which will take place on September 13 at the Embarcadero Marina Park North.  ¡LATIN FOOD FEST!, the largest Latin culinary festival in California, will transform the Embarcadero Marina Park North into a showcase for 100 restaurants, chefs, artisanal foods makers and renowned wine, beer and spirit purveyors.

Featuring many new thematic tasting tents throughout the Grand Tasting Village, dedicated pavilions will focus on specific topics—ranging from Wine Tasting & Pairing to Beer Garden, a ¡Taste TJ! Street Food Pavilion and a Spirits & Craft Cocktail party where mixologists and distillers will hold tastings of Bacanora, Mezcal, Pisco, Pulque, Rum, Sotol and Tequila.

"It’s still difficult to sample every delicious Latin flavor the San Diego region, which includes Baja North, has to offer but ¡LATIN FOOD FEST!’s Grand Tasting Village nails it,” said Festival Executive Director Richie Matthews, who also serves as President of Diálogo Public Relations, which produces the festival.  “And you won’t want to miss the Top Chef, Best Restaurant and Best Dish competitions (including San Diego’s Best Fish Taco category) – our showcase of local culinary excellence.”

A VIP ticket grants early admission and access to the “VIP Playa” where each guest will enjoy special gifts, full pours of reserve wine, premium spirits and craft beer, gourmet bites and hand rolled cigars and in a lively beach setting.

Celebrity Chef Richard Sandoval
World renowned chefs, authors and culinary personalities will be conducting 45-minute segments on the Culinary Demonstration stage, including the world renowned chef Richard Sandoval, who is one of the top restaurateurs with over 35 concepts spanning the globe, including Venga Venga in Chula Vista.  Afterward, attendees will have a chance to exchange personal words and receive a signature with the rock stars of the culinary world at the Book Signing.

In addition to the tastings, the festival also delights other senses with live music by Latin jazz/classical/Latin pop sensations QUATTRO, an art show and a silent auction of culinary supplies and memorabilia, which will benefit our non-profit partner Feeding America.

Mark your calendars as Visa® cardholders can get discounted tickets for the 2014 festival beginning Friday, April 11, online at latinfoodfest.com/taste or by calling (858)-461-1970.
