La Jolla and Pacific Beach residents can expect a cold front in July, but it’s not from the weather. ShakeAway, the world’s largest Milkshake bar company, will be opening two new locations in La Jolla on July 18 and Pacific Beach on July 19, and legendary skateboarder, Tony Hawk, will be at the La Jolla event.
Professional skateboarder and San Diego native Tony Hawk will be at ShakeAway’s soft opening in La Jolla on Friday, July 18 from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Hawk will be naming an official milkshake, with proceeds donated to the Tony Hawk Foundation, a nonprofit that helps build skateparks in low income areas. The Tony Hawk Foundation’s mission is to seek to foster lasting improvements in society, with an emphasis on supporting and empowering youth. ShakeAway’s goal is to raise a minimum of $15,000.
ShakeAway will be hosting a grand opening event in Pacific Beach on Saturday, July 19. The first 50 guests will receive a free milkshake and the opportunity to win a $1,000 giveaway. The schedule for each event is as follows:

5-7pm - Pro skater skateboard showcase featuring Kyle Berard, Christian Sereika, Chris Joslin and Nick Palmquist with free skateboard giveaway autographed by pro skateboarders
