They're ooey, gooey and oh so sweet; when was the last time you had a s'more? This deliciously nostalgic campfire dessert gets its time in the spotlight on August 10, National S'mores Day! Ever wondered why it's called a s'more? That's because after you have one bite, you'll always want "some more" of this tasty treat. Celebrate S'mores Day at these five San Diego spots.

No bonfire? No problem! You can get it at The Duck Dive, a causal beach-inspired lounge in the heart of Pacific Beach. The Duck Dive’s Chef Ryan is cooking up their Tableside S'mores fit for any lover of this quintessential snack. Fluffy marshmallow, warm chocolate and crispy graham cracker, paired with your own personal miniature fire pit. Not into a s’more, but still want to partake in the fun? For the entire month of August, The Duck Dive sweetened up the menu with adult milk shakes and s’more mud pies.  Talk about a perfect, sweet ending to Summer! 

Betty's Pie Whole Saloon, a pie wrangling western saloon in Encinitas, is serving up a two scrumptious s’mores desserts to celebrate this national holiday. Betty’s Gimme S’more Pie features creamy Belgian chocolate and fluffy house-made made marshmallow baked into a crisp graham cracker pie crust. If that weren’t sweet enough, you can also enjoy Betty’s home-made S’more Pie Ice Cream. Made with a base of Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream, Betty’s throws a whole s’more pie into their old-fashioned ice cream churner to produce a delicious s’mores ice cream with real chunks of graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow.

The Cravory, a gourmet cookie shop in Point Loma, decided to put National S'mores Day into overdrive by offering six special S'mores cookies for just $1 each (limit 12 per person) on August 10 at their Point Loma cookie shop. Chef Derek Jaeger took the iconic summer gooey treat of marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker and transformed it into six Cravory S'more cookies - Ultimate S'more - Graham cracker and marshmallow cookie with a chocolate coating; White Chocolate S'more - S'more cookie with white chocolate chunks; Brownie Batter S'more - Brownie base cookie with graham cracker and marshmallow; Nutella S'more - S'more cookie swirled with Nutella; You'll want S'more - S'more cookie stuffed with Milk Chocolate S'more inside; and S'moreo - S'more cookie with bits of Oreos.

Elizabethan Desserts, a retro chic 1940’s-50’s style bakery in Encinitas, is celebrating National S’mores Day with their famous S’mores Bars. These irresistible bars are made with Belgian chocolate, peanut butter, creamy butterscotch and house-made marshmallow on a graham cracker crust. Blow torched to perfection. 

While some hotels and restaurants over complicate the gooey-goodness of a S’more with molecular menus and liquefied libations, Hotel del Coronado offers choco-holics a classic experience complete with a crackling fire pit under the stars for National S’mores Day. Roast at The Del features the ultimate fireside s’mores experience complete with Ghiradelli chocolate, candy toppings, flavored marshmallows and even bacon! Families, friends or romantic couples – guest or not – can cozy up on the beach and enjoy the classic combination of marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate every evening, year-round.
