Since this past Friday, La Jolla's El Pescador Fish Market has been doling out fresh catch from its new location in the building that previously housed Marrakesh, right across the street from its former spot on Pearl Street. Now equipped with a beer and wine license, the new El Pescador is packing in patrons looking for just-caught cuts to-go or prepared on a sandwich, taco or salad for casual dining in.
El Pescador first opened its doors in Del Mar in July of 1974. By the end of 1976, the location had a complete seafood deli to accompany the thriving fresh fish market. In 1985, the store on Pearl Street in La Jolla opened, and since then, the menu has increased to an array of char-grilled and sauteed seafood items.
El Pescador Fish Market is now located at 634 Pearl Street in La Jolla. For more information, call (858) 456-2526 or visit elpescadorfishmarket.com.
