San Diego's Devine Pastabilities to be Featured on Food Network's 'Mystery Diners' | Wednesday, August 27

Torpasta!
August 25, 2014

Set your DVR because Devine Pastabilities, located at 3545 Midway Dr., Ste. E, in San Diego, becomes the next local Food Network television celebrity with a show dedicated to its regional favorite, the Torpasta. Appearing on “Mystery Diners” at 9pm this Wednesday, Aug. 27, the restaurant has had to keep details of the episode under wraps. However owner Damien Devine, who has already successfully battled one fast food chain over the rights to his signature sandwich, now fears someone from within his organization is trying to steal his culinary creation. The Mystery Diners are ready to investigate!

Devine Pastabilities, home to the Torpasta, is quite possibly one of the most unique Italian concepts in Southern California. Starting with a 12” Italian roll, cut in half with a hollowed out middle, it’s then stuffed with the restaurant’s favorite pasta dishes, all done with fresh ingredients and homemade sauces.

Devine Pastabilities has been serving the San Diego area since 2002. Each year, more than 100,000 Torpastas are consumed throughout the community including at the restaurant, local Farmer’s Markets and events. Torpasta is a smash hit in the catering world from office lunches to weddings, creating a neat, delicious way to do pasta. The Torpasta is the centerpiece of the menu, but it does not stand alone. The restaurant’s menu features a variety of pasta plates, salads and “torsalads,” pizza, sub sandwiches, antipasto and the famous Tortuga dessert, a warm cookie sandwich with ice cream in the middle and a chocolate syrup drizzle.
