Cross The Most Delicious Finish Line Ever at Cooking Light & Health's The Fit Foodie 5k Race Weekend | November 14-16

November 1, 2014

Calories burned, calories earned…right? The most delicious 5K ever returns to the San Diego Bayfront November 14-16, for three days of food and fitness experiences! After the success of its inaugural race in San Diego, Cooking Light & Health’s The Fit Foodie 5K Race Weekend returns to America’s Finest City for its second annual race weekend to conclude its three city tour across the country.

During the Fit Foodie 5K Race Weekend, a fit and healthy lifestyle can co-exist with a love for great epicurean experiences in three days where food and fitness lovers can earn and burn their calories, while indulging in fabulous tastes along the way.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, November 14, with a pre-race Light Up The Night VIP Cocktail Party held at Florent Restaurant and Lounge, where runners are treated to special giveaways and delicious sips and bites before the big race. On Saturday, November 15, runners lace up their sneakers and hit the ground running for the 5K race and Finisher’s Village held at the San Diego Bayfront. Upon crossing the finish line, runners celebrate their success in style at the Finisher’s Village post-race celebration, and indulge in food, beer and wine samples, and fitness and culinary demonstrations.

The festivities conclude on Sunday, November 16, in true Fit Foodie fashion. Guests have the choice of a celebrity sunrise yoga session led by celebrity trainer Kristin McGee, or a calorie-crushing obstacle course bootcamp session led by Nike Elite Fitness Athlete Patrick Goudeau. Attendees are invited to indulge in a well-deserved brunch immediately following their workout.

Balancing food, fitness and philanthropy, 10 percent of the sale of each ticket benefits City of Hope, a worldwide leader in research and treatment for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.
