America’s finest city will once again become the epicenter of the California wine world as the third annual VinDiego Wine & Food Festival takes over NTC Liberty Station in Point Loma on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11. Wine and food enthusiasts can savor more than 300 unique tastes of unlimited award-winning wine from over 75 wineries and delectable food and appetizers from more than 20 of San Diego’s finest restaurants while enjoying live music and an upbeat atmosphere. The VinDiego Grand Tasting will be held on Saturday, April 11, from 4-7pm at NTC Promenade in Liberty Station located at 2640 Historic Decatur Road. More than 75 wineries will provide in excess of 300 unique tastes of unlimited wine alongside some of San Diego’s finest restaurants. The festival will feature elite wineries from California and Oregon as well as exclusive Paso Robles CAB Collective Member wineries. This elite group of 18 top-tier wineries from the Paso Robles area is known for making high-quality Cabernet and Bordeaux blend wines.
Grand Tasting tickets are $95 each and provide access to all wineries and restaurants. Be sure to use promo code SANDIEGOVILLE to receive a $20 discount per pass. General admission access begins at 4pm. VIP admission includes a 3pm entry and access to the VIP tent. VIP tickets are $125 each and are limited to 300 passes. Tickets can be purchased online.
The VinDiego Special Sunset Rare and Reserve Tasting takes place Friday, April 10, from 6-8:30pm. at Corky McMillin Companies Event Center located at 2875 Dewey in Liberty Station. Guests will be greeted with a champagne reception at this intimate event featuring up to 30 wineries that will provide rare and reserve-level wines. Wines that will be poured are no longer in distribution, while others are proprietor’s reserves and end-of-vintage wines. Wines may include Napa trophy Cabernets; rare bottles from Sonoma, Santa Cruz, Lodi and the Central Coast’s Paso Robles region; Pinots from Oregon and Santa Barbara County and more. Guests are invited to enjoy appetizers including charcuterie, artisan cheeses and bread, while enjoying live jazz music. Tickets are limited to 350 guests, cost $125 each and are available online.
The Rare and Reserve Tasting will feature a silent auction with items including large format luxury bottles of wine. One hundred percent of proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to the non-profit San Diego Food Bank, the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County.
