Mess Royale Poutine & Bagels will soon open at 142 University Avenue in Hillcrest. A fast casual restaurant, Mess Royale will specialize in quality comfort food such as authentic Montreal poutine, bagels from legendary Montreal bagel bakery St-Viateur Bagels, an array of sandwiches, as well as craft beer and more.
Owned by Canadian-born Hugo Tassone, Mess Royale will open on Thursday, April 2 and begin serving deluxe grilled cheeses, supreme sandwiches, maple glazed bacon on a stick, and much more. In addition to Montreal bagels that will be shipped in 3-times per week, the restaurant will also offer an eclectic selection of Poutines - twice-cooked French fries, smothered in cheese curds and house made gravies, then topped with almost anything one could imagine, from sausage to seafood.
