If you love celebrating Cinco de Mayo you will also love the history of this inspirational holiday! It’s typically confused for Mexico’s Day of Independence which is September 16. However on May 5, 1862 around 2,000 men led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, were able to defeat French soldiers that outnumbered them 2 to 1 in small town of Puebla. The recognition of this unlikely victory over the French forces is a source of cultural pride and one way to celebrate time honored traditions! Now that you know the history, where will you be celebrating Cinco de Mayo? Join some of your favorite establishments for awesome specials and of course tequila.
