Firehouse American Eatery + Lounge, which has been under serious renovation since late last year, has bulked up its culinary repertoire with the addition of Chef Jason Maitland to lead the kitchen. Maitland has over a decade of experience working at kitchens in San Diego, most recently working as the Executive Chef at Indigo Grill in Little Italy, and has already completely overhauled the Firehouse menus.
Guests can expect mouth-watering breakfast items such as the “Krispy Kreme Benny” which includes two glazed donuts, maple-peppercorn bacon, poached eggs, lemon Hollandaise, breakfast potatoes and grilled bread. Also, look forward to seafood specialties including Hawaiian ahi tostadas, salt & pepper shrimp and the “Vuelve A La Vida!”, which showcases an array of fresh seafood in a spicy sauce.
Firehouse will continue to feature classic American favorites such as delectable burgers with a twist and buttermilk fried chicken, but will elevate the mains with entrees including hand made pappardelle pasta with wild mushrooms, sherry, parmigiano-reggiano, truffle essence, shaved San Joaquin gold and truffle salt.
In the spirit of bolstering it's rooftop to the likes of sister restaurant - Little Italy gem, Kettner Exchange - Firehouse's upgrade includes cabana tables complete with hidden flip top beer/bottle storage containers, an upstairs vertical garden, fresh beer lines and taps throughout the restaurant and more.
