May 9, 2015

More than 30,000 visitors are expected to enjoy samples from local craft breweries, live music and entertainment, a crafter row and artist alley, 300 food and vendor booths, and carnival rides and games for the family at the 7th annual Santee Street Fair and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, May 23, from 10am to 7pm. The annual street fair will be a celebration of the Santee Chamber's 60th anniversary and will have a 1950's theme with a vintage carnival, a hula hoop contest, and an auction of a 1971 Camaro. You know it - as usual, we're giving away more than just information - enter to win 2 tickets to the Craft Beer Garden!

“We are excited to celebrate 60 years in Santee and invite visitors to enjoy fun activities for the whole family," said John Olsen, President and CEO of the Santee Chamber. "The Santee Street Fair is a great way to kick-off your Memorial Day weekend with a tribute to our local veterans and heroes.”

The Craft Beer Garden will be sponsored by Whissel Realty and FM 94/9, with live entertainment and samples from local San Diego breweries, including Twisted Manzanita, BNS Brewing & Distilling Co., Chuck Alek Independent Brewers, Oggi’s Pizza and Brewing Co., Helm’s Brewing Co., Mike Hess Brewing, and Jamul Brewing Co. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased online for $20. Tickets include (10) ten 4-ounce tasters and a bacon-wrapped hot dog or cheeseburger. Wristbands can be purchased at the door for $20 for (10) ten 4-ounce tasters without food.

In addition to the beer tasting event, attendees can go down artist's alley and crafters row to view one-of-a-kind artisan crafts and local art from students in the area. Family friendly attractions will include photo opportunities with the Minions from the “Despicable Me” movies, along with other characters. There will also be an interactive arts and crafts kids’ area, various carnival rides, and a zip-lining area.

There will be two community stages with continuous live music and performances throughout the event. The community stages will feature various acts performed by local students from Staump Productions LLC, Expression Dance & Movement Center, Pickwick Players, Championship Gymnastics & Cheer, Infinity Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, American Fortitude, Santana High School, and West Hills High School.
