Monello in Little Italy is spicing up their Wednesdays with more than just great wine. In addition to recently announcing they would only be serving 100% organic pasta, the “naughty little brother” to Bencotto Italian Kitchen has also recently introduced Wednesday on Wheel, offering tableside preparations of their favorite risotto recipes.
Every Wednesday from 5pm to close, Monello offers a dining experience unlike any other. Guests can order a risotto special to be cooked tableside out of a Raspadura parmesan cheese wheel. While the chef stirs your dish to a creamy perfection he will tell you about the preparation as you watch in excitement. Monello is the only restaurant in San Diego to cook and present risotto in this unique fashion. The dish, which changes every week, is about $25 and is large enough to share. Some recent specials were risotto with black truffle and Risotto alla Aragosta (lobster risotto - see below).
