The San Diego Brewers Guild Presents 7th Annual San Diego Beer Week From November 6-15 | 10-Day Celebration Of San Diego’s Thriving Beer Community To Feature More Than 500 Events

October 22, 2015

San Diego produces some of the best and most sought after beer in the world and this fall, the San Diego Brewers Guild will bring together for the seventh consecutive year San Diego County’s more than 100 breweries, as well as visiting breweries from out of area, for the city’s highly anticipated annual celebration of beer - San Diego Beer Week. The 10-day event, happening Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 15, consists of more than 500 beer-centric events held at locations around the county, plus two bookend events hosted by the Guild - San Diego Brewers Guild Festival, beer week’s official opening two-day event held at downtown’s Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, and The Beer Garden, the week’s closing event held at the Lodge at Torrey Pines.

“It’s been an incredible year for San Diego breweries, bringing home an impressive 19 medals from the Great American Beer Festival, and this year’s San Diego Beer Week is primed to be the most well attended yet” says Kevin Hopkins, the president of the San Diego Brewers Guild. “The destination event provides us with a powerful platform to share what’s new in San Diego beer with visitors from both near and far.”

The week officially kicks off with the 13th annual, two-day San Diego Brewers Guild Festival, on the evening of November 6, beginning with the VIP Brewer Takeover held at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier. Guests to this exclusive event will have the opportunity to taste San Diego’s finest, rare and specialty beers from local breweries, as well as limited edition brews made solely for the evening, and enjoy lively entertainment featuring Stone Brewing Co.’s house band, which notably includes head brewer Mitch Steele. The all-inclusive ticket includes unlimited beer samples throughout the evening as well as unlimited food samples from local craft-beer centric restaurants.

The festivities continue the next day from 2-5pm at the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival. Last year’s Guild Fest events completely sold out for the first time in the history of the event, with over 3,000 beer aficionados in attendance. This festive kick-off event features unlimited craft beer samples, food for purchase from popular local food trucks and restaurants plus music from local bands. Both single and two-day tickets to the Guild Fest are available.

Many of San Diego’s award-winning breweries will collaborate to offer exclusive experiences for SDBW attendees, including ‘meet the brewers’ events, brewery tours, rare beer tastings and educational events. More than 500 individual brewery hosted events will take place during SDBW, including Stone Brewing Co.’s annual Rare Beer Breakfast (Saturday, November 6 at 9 a.m.), Craft Beer + Bites: The SDBW edition (Thursday, November 12th at 6 p.m.) and the Battle of the Guilds (Friday, November 13th at 6 p.m.). A complete list of events can be found at https://www.sdbw.org/schedule.

SDBW week will conclude with The Beer Garden event at the Lodge at Torrey Pines on Sunday, November 15, from noon to 3pm. Twelve chefs and 24 San Diego breweries will unite for a memorable afternoon of unlimited beer and food pairings to celebrate the craft beer movement. The event will benefit both the Chef Celebration Foundation and the San Diego Brewers Guild. Tickets to The Beer Garden are available online at the cost of $85 per person.
