Another One Bites The Dust | After 19 Years In North Park, Claire De Lune Calls It Quits

February 16, 2016

This year hasn't started off well for longtime San Diego restaurant institutions. Albie's Beef Inn shuttered at the tail end of 2015 after over 50 years in Mission Valley. Croce's closed in January after a cumulative 30+ year stint in San Diego. Acqua Al 2 is no more after 15 years in the Gaslamp. The latest victim is Claire De Lune, which closed it's popular coffee shop and hangout today after nearly two decades in North Park.

Claire Magner owns the building on the corner of 2906 University Avenue, now called CDL Odd Fellows, that housed Claire De Lune Coffee House since 1997. She intends to rent the 4,000 square foot space out to a new tenant. Claire also hopes to maintain her nearby event space - Sunset Temple.
