The Brew & Food Festival is coming back to America's Finest City for a second round of craft beer and culinary collisions, taking place on Saturday, June 4, from 3-6:30pm at the beautiful Waterfront Park in downtown San Diego. This year's event will feature more than 200 seasonal and specialty craft beers from 70 breweries, dozens of beer-inspired and infused dishes from 20 accomplished chefs (including celebrity chefs Javier Plascencia and the return of Top Chef contestant Chad White), two stages for live music and chef demonstrations, and activities like the silent disco dome. We are raffling off 2 VIP tickets to attend and also offering promo code SDVILLE for $5 savings on any ticket type (limited to first 100 tickets purchased so act fast!).
"Our goal in year two of Brew & Food Festival is to focus more attention on unique collisions between craft beer and culinary worlds," explains Brian Chapin, founder of Motley Brews and mastermind behind Brew & Food Festival. "We are thrilled to be working with legendary local chefs Javier Plascencia and Chad White for this year's installment. We’re also amping up the entertainment with multiple stages showcasing live music performances, chef demonstrations, pop up culinary surprises and the silent disco dome.”
Fresh off a stellar Top Chef Season 13 performance, Chef Chad Whitewill return to his roots in San Diego to bring his unique Baja-inspired flavor to this year's Brew & Food Festival. He will join Tijuana native and celebrity Chef Javier Plascencia of Bracero Cocina in creating beer inspired dishes for the Mad Craft VIP area, cooking side-by-side and serving complimentary small plates fresh from the Mad Craft kitchen for all VIP ticketholders. Underground tastemaker Chef Justin Kingsley Hall, owner of the cult sensation SLO-Boy in Las Vegas, will make several appearances in pop up tastings throughout the festival.
All three celebrity chefs will also make appearances on the festival’s Culinary Stage for cooking demos of original, beer-inspired dishes, where they will share samples and discuss flavors and techniques with the audience.
Leading San Diego eateries like Salt & Cleaver, Salud, and S&M Sausage & Meat, along with several other local restaurants will also bring gourmet gastronomy to the masses. Festival goers can expect culinary specialties such as exotic game meats, charcuterie, chicken and waffle bites, and duck and bacon sausages. They'll also be surprised with gourmet tastings from local boutiques such as chocolate samplings, cheeses and more.
