San Diego based Karl Strauss Brewing Company been named the 2016 Brewery of the Year by the California Travel Association. Each year the association holds an awards ceremony to recognize standout organizations throughout the state that have helped to develop the California tourism brand. Karl Strauss joins an impressive list of previous winners in the Brewery of the Year category that includes Firestone Walker (2015), Russian River (2014), and Sierra Nevada (2013).

In addition to drawing visitors to California each year with their contributions to the craft beer scene, several Karl Strauss Brewing Company leaders reside on the boards of key support groups such as the San Diego Brewers Guild, California Craft Brewers Association, and the San Diego Tourism Authority.

The award winners were announced at the Awards Dinner and Gala at the California Travel Summit in Palm Springs on May 11. Karl Strauss CEO & Co-Founder Chris Cramer was in attendance to accept the award. Karl Strauss also recently won 2 Gold medals (Mosaic Session IPA/Red Trolley) at the Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition and a Bronze medal (Mosaic AGAIN) and a Silver for their Big Barrel IIPA at the San Diego International Beer Competition.
