Salvucci's Ready To Open In San Diego's East Village

May 15, 2016

The RMD Group of restaurants (Don Chido, Rustic Root, Ciro's) has finished the build out of the former Común Taqueria space at 935 J Street in San Diego's East Village and will open Salvucci's on Monday, May 16. Specializing in modern takes on traditional Italian dishes, Salvucci's aims to entice San Diego diners with fresh pasta, bread, pizza, sauce, and welcoming hospitality.

Named after co-owner Dave Renzella's maternal grandparents, Salvucci’s Ristorante will offer dishes using recipes that have been "passed down from generation to generation." The menu includes daily homemade pastas, hand tossed Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas, fresh seasonal salads, house baked breads and other Italian specialties.
Involtini di Melanzane
Highlights from Salvucci's dinner menu includes Involtini di Melanzane with eggplant, herbed ricotta, pomodoro sauce, parmesan; Spaghetti alle Vongole with clams, garlic, white wine, lemon butter, parsley, spaghetti; Prosciutto e Rucola pizza with prosciutto, arugula, balsamic reduction, roasted tomato, parmesan, and mozzarella; and Tagliata di Manzo - a NY strip steak served with arugula, creamy polenta, shaved parmesan and balsamic reduction. Craft beer, specialty cocktails and a curated wine list will round out the offerings.
Pollo alla Parmigiana
Salvucci's will initially open for dinner from 5-9pm but will soon launch a lunch menu. For more information and to make reservations, visit salvuccissd.com.
