BiCE San Diego Launches Weekly Grilled Cheese Night For Grown Ups

Widely known for its sumptuous one-of-a-kind cheese bar, BiCE Ristorante in downtown San Diego will launch a weekly Grilled Cheese Night. The events are set for every Tuesday in June from 5pm-10ish and a specialty grilled cheese sandwich filled with a cheese from a different region of Italy will be served at the downtown restaurant’s cheese bar. Crafted by Chef de Cuisine Francesca Penoncelli, the meltingly delicious sandwiches are priced at $10 and can be paired with a suggested wine or beer for $16.

On Tuesday, June 7, BiCE will feature famous Piedmont cheese Boschetto al Tartufo (truffled cheese), serving a Mortadella and zucchini grilled cheese on whole wheat bread. The featured wine paired with the sandwich is Barbera d Alba "Sovrana"2011, Batasiolo, and the featured beer is a La Menabrea Bionda Pale lager from Piedmont.

On Tuesday, June 14, Sardinia's Pecorino Fiore Sardo and Prosciutto di Parma will be featured in grilled cheese form on house made jalapeño Focaccia. The featured wine for this evening will be Icore' Cannonau di Sardegna. Specialty grilled cheese sandwiches with pairings will also be offered on Tuesday, June 21 & 28.

For those who can’t get enough mozzarella, gorgonzola or burrata, guests can enjoy samplings from BiCE’s expansive cheese bar featuring traditional and rarer cheeses categorized by aroma and flavor – The Lighter Ones, A Bit Stronger, Already More Serious and Consider Yourself Warned.
