Green Flash Brewing Supports Breast Cancer Awareness With 6th Annual Treasure Chest Fest On August 27 | Enter To Win 2 Tickets

Green Flash Brewing Co. will host its 6th annual Treasure Chest Fest, a rare beer and food pairing festival experience at its Mira Mesa brewery, taking place on Saturday, August 27, from 12-5pm to raise funds for breast cancer charities. Green Flash Brewing's Treasure Chest Fest is the brewery's largest and most anticipated rare beer event of the year. For the 6th year in a row, Green Flash will donate proceeds from the Treasure Chest program to three breast cancer charities including Prevent Cancer nationally and the Susan G Komen affiliates in San Diego and Virginia Beach, offering support in each of their home town markets.

Raising money for the fight against breast cancer is a cause which is near and dear to the hearts of everyone at Green Flash. Brewery Co-Founder Lisa Hinkley is a breast cancer survivor and is passionate about helping others whose lives have been affected by this disease.

“As a 6-year breast cancer survivor, I am thrilled to see the Treasure Chest program grow every year,” exclaims Lisa Hinkley. “Thanks to the support of our consumers, we are proud to have raised over $220,000 dollars for our national and regional charity partners to date. I am hopeful the program will only continue to build momentum as we strive toward making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by breast cancer.”

The festival will be held at Green Flash Brewing Co. in Mira Mesa and will take over the tasting room, beer garden, and outside space. Expect to see 20+ rare beer, cask, and barrel-aged creations from Green Flash, Cellar 3, and Alpine Beer Company, including the 2016 release of Treasure Chest -  an IPA brewed with grapefruit, prickly pear juice, and hibiscus flowers. There will also be food pairings from top local restaurants, culinary demos and bonus tastings taking place throughout the event, as well as a photo booth and vendor village. 

Early bird tickets to Treasure Chest Fest are now available online for $50. All tickets include food and beer pairings, a commemorative glass, and festival flair. The tropical Hawaiian Luau theme is back by popular demand again for this year's event, so be sure to grab your best Tiki attire, as Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, and retro-inspired island kitsch apparel is strongly encouraged.

For the 3rd straight year, Green Flash will also host an incarnation of its Treasure Chest Fest fundraiser on the site of their east coast brewery in Virginia Beach. This year’s festival will take place on November 12, and tickets are also available for that event online. Beginning in September, and booked through November, Treasure Chest fundraiser events are also scheduled to take place in select US cities in 27 states.
