Restaurateur and chef, Wade Hageman, and his wife Kristi, who together own and operate Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizzeria and The Craftsman New American Tavern, will add a third Encinitas restaurant to their portfolio - a new Asian-inspired bar and eatery called Open House Asian Kitchen - set to debut in Moonlight Plaza at the corner of Encinitas Boulevard and South Coast Highway 101 in early 2017.

Open House Asian Kitchen will add an innovative twist to Asian fusion food, drawing inspiration from Thai, Korean, Chinese and Japanese cuisines and featuring craft beer offerings, handcrafted cocktails and wines to pair with their dishes. Open House Asian Kitchen at Moonlight Plaza is within walking distance to renowned Moonlight Beach and will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week. Patrons will be invited to enjoy an open courtyard, inviting bar area, and plenty of parking.

"This restaurant concept is new to our area and Kristi and I are really excited to bring this style of cuisine to Encinitas," said Chef Wade Hageman. "As long-time residents of this great coastal city we take pride in our restaurants and are motivated by our long term patrons who enjoy quality farm-to-fork food and new combinations of flavors. Our goal with Open House Asian Kitchen is simple - create a restaurant at the wonderful Moonlight Plaza that feels open and welcoming, as if you received an invitation to relax and enjoy delicious food with family and friends at your neighbor’s place near the beach."

The Hageman Restaurant Group has been serving new twists on classic cuisines at its restaurants in Encinitas since it launched Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizzeria in the Lumber Yard in 2010. The Craftsman Tavern was then opened in 2012 to serve farm-to-fork cuisine in a family-friendly pub style on El Camino.

"We as a family are so very thankful to be associated with such high quality restaurateurs as Wade and Kristi Hageman," said Lee Rotsheck, representative for Moonlight Plaza. "Their level of professionalism and commitment to our community will be an exciting contribution to the Plaza. The Hageman Restaurant Group’s renovation of Moonlight Plaza will deliver a creative concept that is as innovative as it is inviting. We have no doubt it will become a favorite restaurant for locals and visitors alike. We look forward to the grand opening of Open House Asian Kitchen in early 2017."

Located on the South Coast Highway 101 in downtown Encinitas a few blocks from popular Moonlight Beach, Moonlight Plaza is owned by a third-generation Encinitas family. Plaza merchants include locally owned restaurants, professional services and small-scale retail stores.
