Incoming Gaslamp Quarter 'Super Hotel' Announces Three New Food & Beverage Concepts | Pendry Hotel Adds Café Marketplace, Beer Hall & Signature Lobby Bar To Roster

August 4, 2016

We previously announced the first details on three of Pendry Hotel's six dining and entertainment venues - Lionfish Modern Coastal Cuisine, Oxford Social Club, and The Pool House. - and now we have information on the last three concepts to round out the incoming San Diego super hotel's highly anticipated food & beverage program, set to open by the end of 2016.

In addition to the three venues announced last month - Lionfish, Oxford Social Club and The Pool House - being developed in partnership with Andy Masi’s Clique Hospitality, Pendry San Diego will also feature three additional signature concepts with a distinct focus on experiential design, the modern-day retail experience and an inspired approach to the San Diego lifestyle.

“The food and beverage experience is a key component to all of our Pendry hotels and we are passionate about developing exceptional, inspired concepts for guests and locals alike,” said Michael Fuerstman, co-founder and creative director, Pendry Hotels. “With the addition of Fifth & Rose, Provisional and Nason’s Beer Hall, we are building a true culinary and entertainment destination in the heart of San Diego. Pendry San Diego will be home to many dining experiences, and each of them will have its own personality and style with a common eye for quality, design and authenticity.”

Nason's artistic rendering
A new addition to the famous San Diego craft beer scene, Nason’s Beer Hall will be a California coastal concept featuring local and international beers, global comfort food, and vintage bar games. Its name pays homage to Nason & Co. Farmer’s Market, formerly located in the current location of the beer hall in the early 1900’s.

Designed in partnership with Raan and Lindsay Parton from Los Angeles’ Alchemy Works retail concept, Provisional Kitchen, Café & Mercantile will be a restaurant and marketplace featuring seasonal fare and gourmet takeaway offerings. The communal dining space will feature a Vittoria Coffee espresso bar, sky-high ceilings, bistro tables and a retail marketplace set within a greenhouse. The marketplace will offer a curated collection of items including homeware, ceramics, apothecary items, pantry staples and jewelry.

A sophisticated watering hole with elevated bar fare, Fifth & Rose aims to be the perfect place to engage in conversation over a hand-crafted cocktail. Rich stone stands out amidst a black and white palette with crimson details, candles and fresh roses. Fifth & Rose is inspired by a host’s living room - comfortable, always welcoming, a place you never want to leave.

"Our partnership with Pendry Hotels has been a great alliance between our retail curation and design background paired with their incredible service culture and hospitality pedigree,” said Raan Parton, creative director, Apolis. “Lindsay and I have always dreamed of a way to have an interpretation of an Alchemy Works aligned with a food & beverage experience encompassed within the setting of a hotel to create a community place - one that is complemented with a mix of home decor from our travels, gifts, accessories, table top items and found objects."
