La Jolla's La Valencia Hotel To Host Gatsby Gala To Celebrate 90 Year Anniversary

November 12, 2016

Flappers unite! On Thursday, December 15, La Jolla's Pink Lady is hosting a lavish affair to celebrate nine-decades in San Diego. To commemorate its 90th birthday, La Valencia Hotel will host the Gatsby Gala, a most exclusive party featuring live music & dancing, Prohibition era cocktails, a buffet, and more, with a percentage of ticket sales benefiting the La Jolla Historical Society.

The luxurious Roaring 20s themed Gatsby Gala will be a huge and opulent shindig, because, hey, "at small parties there isn’t any privacy." There will be live music from Jacqueline Foster and Wayne Foster, plenty of dancing, punchbowls of bubbly, an extravagant buffet from Execute Chef Alex Emery, tray-passed hors d'oeuvres, and revelers encouraged to dress in period attire. Expect to be greeted with vintage automobiles, flashbulbs and flappers!

La Valencia's dining and public spaces - including THE MED, Café la Rue, La Sala Lounge and the mezzanine Galeria - will be transformed into a palace that The Great Gatsby himself would envy with speakeasies and a Jazz Age dance hall. With space for only 300 invitees, tickets for La V’s party of the century are likely to sell out fast. Passes are available online for $290 per person and include a Gatsby-inspired gift, an open Bootleg Bar with Champagne and craft concoctions, sumptuous buffets and entertainment. La V is also offering two overnight packages designed just for the event.
