The owner of Wet Stone Wine Bar & Cafe has taken over the blue building that last housed Mission Hills Coffee Company and will open Fools & Kings - an old-world-style, globally inspired restaurant featuring an adventurous wine selection, sangria options and plenty of craft beers.
Chef and owner Christian Gomez, who has been operating Wet Stone Wine Bar & Cafe in San Diego's Bankers Hill neighborhood since 2008, is developing a classy yet unpretentious neighborhood haunt in Mission Hills, inspired by the Old World style of countries like Cuba. Taking over the space at 4015 Goldfinch Street that last housed Mission Hills Coffee Company, Gomez is developing Fools & Kings to pay homage to the global culinary influences that have inspired and tantalized the San Diego native during his world travels. Expect a menu of shareable plates with a global influence to be paired with house made sangria, a curated wine list and local craft beers.
Construction is currently underway on Fools & Kings for an anticipated summer opening. For more information, visit foolsandkings.com and follow the restaurant on Facebook.
