Celebrity Chef Richard Blais To Host Cooking Demo & Book Signing At San Diego's Juniper & Ivy

May 22, 2017

Fresh off a press trip across the U.S. promoting his new cookbook - So Good - with stops on The Today Show, Rachel Ray and Wendy Williams to name a few, celebrity chef Richard Blais will be back on his home turf on Sunday, June 11 to host a party at his Juniper & Ivy restaurant in San Diego's Little Italy  from 10am-2pm to celebrate the release of the cookbook.

This intimate event will give fans and cooking enthusiasts a chance to meet Chef Blais and experience a live food demonstration while sipping on champagne and noshing on some of the restaurant’s bites along the way. For $75 or $120 for a couple, guests will have access to the event and leave with a signed copy of the new cookbook that was just released earlier this month. Additional cookbooks can be purchased at the event for $30. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.

A native New Yorker, Chef Richard Blais Blais relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2000 where he founded Trail Blais, a creative culinary company that has consulted on, designed and operates some of Atlanta’s most popular eateries, including FLIP Burger Boutique, which now has numerous locations in Atlanta, Nashville, and Alabama. Blais was runner up on season 4 of Bravo's Top Chef and competed and won Top Chef: All Stars in 2011. Blais has also appeared on many other cooking shows. In February 2013, he released his debut cookbook, Try This at Home: Recipes From My Head to Your Plate, which was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award in 2014.

Blais opened Juniper & Ivy in San Diego's Little Italy in early 2014 and The Crack Shack in the neighboring space in late 2015. He most recently opened The Crack Shack in Encinitas earlier this year, a continuation of his and Michael Rosen's fried chicken fine-casual concept. The Crack Shack has more locations in the works, including in Orange County's Costa Mesa, a La Jolla location, two more leases in Southern California, and outposts in Los Angeles, with the first LA branch set for Pasadena.

Up next for Blais, another book signing on a yet-to-be-announced date in July at The Crack Shack’s new Encinitas location.
