Blue Bridge Hospitality To Take Over Coronado's Vigilucci's Location For The Opening Of Maretalia Ristorante

July 2, 2017

Coronado's Blue Bridge Hospitality is in the process of taking over the Vigilucci's location on the island and will transform it into Maretalia Ristorante - a "modern coastal Italian" eatery.

This past May, the 6,500 square-foot Vigilucci's Ristorante Coronado, which opened in the Spring of 2009, sold to David Spatafore's Blue Bridge Hospitality. Many of Vigilucci's former employees stayed on as the restaurant has transitioned into Maretalia, including Executive Chef Marco Sedda, a Florence, Italy native who has been cooking around the world since the age of fourteen.

The menu will receive a revamp with the help of Blue Bridge's corporate chef Tim Kolanko, who will focus on seasonal offerings. After the summer, the restaurant will close for a short time to receive a remodel. Vigilucci's continues to own and operate three restaurants and an Italian Gourmet Market in Carlsbad and Encinitas (Vigilucci's Seafood & Steakhouse - Carlsbad, Vigilucci's Cucina Italiana - Carlsbad, Vigilucci's Trattoria - Leucadia, and Vigilucci's Gourmet Market and Catering - Carlsbad).
