August 6, 2017

Opening this Tuesday, August 8 in the space that previously housed Hometown Buffet in the Mira Mesa Shopping Center is the 10,000 square-foot Fung Fung Yuen, a modern all-day dim sum restaurant and cocktail bar.

Owned by Simon Lee, a veteran restaurateur who also runs Sushiya in Chula Vista, Fung Fung Yuen is a gigantic modern Asian restaurant that can house nearly 400 diners at a time. Manager Michael Tran previously ran another San Diego dim sum destination - Convoy’s Jasmine Seafood Restaurant.

Fung Fung Yuen will offer diners a variety of traditional dim sum dishes that will be served by tableside carts, as well as other Chinese specialties and even sushi options. Expect dishes like pan-fried dumplings, roasted pork, shrimp toast, Peking duck and so much more. There will also be live seafood options like lobster, fish and Dungeness crab. From the bar, Fung Fung Yuen will offer a lineup of draft beer, including local options, as well as wine, sake and soju and sparkling wine-based cocktails. There will also be a cocktail cart similar offering drinks prepared tableside.

Fung Fung Yuen is located at 10660 Camino Ruiz in San Diego's Mira Mesa neighborhood and will be open from 10am to 10pm daily starting on August 8. For more information, call 858.578.8800.
