Our Eight Picks For A Delicious San Diego Restaurant Week | Price Fixed Multi-Course Meals Return This September 24 - October 1

September 18, 2017

There are eight full days of dining deals taking place from this Sunday, September 24 through Sunday, October 1 for the fall installment of the biannual San Diego Restaurant Week 2017, so we thought it best to pick one eatery for each day!

Get ready for price fixed, multi-course meals all over America's Finest City. We’ve perused the seemingly unending list of over 190 options and narrowed them down to our top dinner picks (though lunch is also offered at many locations). Below is our breakdown of our ideal San Diego Restaurant Week 2017. Make your reservations and get out there to support our city's thriving culinary community.

Sunday, September 24 - 1500 Ocean ($50) - We would kick-off Restaurant Week by going big and dining at one of the most iconic properties in San Diego - Hotel Del Coronado. The Del's onsite restaurant 1500 Ocean is offering an irresistible 3 course menu from its new Executive Chef - French Master Chef Patrick Ponsaty - all paired with some magnificent oceanfront views.

Monday, September 25 - The Lion's Share ($30) - There is something about the SDRW menu offered by this hidden downtown gem that is fun and appealing, and at $30, it's a steal. There are so many options to choose from it's hard to decide!

Tuesday, September 26 - BiGA ($30) - For night #3, we're heading to downtown's BiGA for an Italian meal from Executive Chef & Owner Tae Dickey. This three course menu features a handful of antipasti to start, followed by a selections of pasta or pizza to choose from, and an array of sweets to finish the meal.

Wednesday, September 27 - Cafe Chloe ($40) - It's essentially Restaurant Week Humpday and we would choose to dine at one of San Diego's classic French restaurants - Cafe Chloe in the East Village. The concise menu makes choosing easy - champignons du beurre d'ail to start, steak frites for our main course, and brown butter crème brulee to finish!

Thursday, September 28 - Cowboy Star ($50) - Arguably San Diego's top steakhouse, Cowboy Star is an obvious choice for restaurant week, so we have to get in before the weekend! We would go all-mammal on this menu, starting with the signature steak tartare, followed by a petite filet (or the pork chop) and finishing with the chocolate chip bread pudding.

Friday, September 29 - Lionfish ($50) - Pendry San Diego's fine-dining restaurant will join the SDRW lineup for the first time, so we'd hit it up for Friday's meal. We know Executive Chef Jose “JoJo” Ruiz can cook, so we'd likely leave our order up to him, but the $15 wine pairing seems the a must regardless of the courses.

Saturday, September 30 - Solare Ristorante ($40) - Liberty Station's Italian gem Solare never disappoints. Chef Accursio Lotà has put together a most enticing menu for this year's event, which includes an Italian Wine Flight for an additional $17. There is also an option to substitute dessert for a special craft cocktail, which we think all restaurants should do for those that aren't big into sweets.

Sunday, October 1 -  Salt & Whiskey ($30) - Earlier this summer, downtown San Diego's Horton Hotel revitalized and rebranded its onsite restaurant and bar, transforming it into Salt & Whiskey. Being we've been wanting to dine there since its unveiling, we'd use the value-oriented $30 SDRW menu to sample the new eatery.

Honorable Mentions - In a most perfect world, we'd also have the time and ability to dine at the following: Barbusa, Bankers Hill Bar & RestaurantBencotto, Bleu Boheme, Catania, Cucina Urbana, Del Mar Rendezvous, Et Voila! French BistroGalaxy Taco, George's California Modern, Great Maple, The Hake, The Marine RoomMister A'sMonello, NINE-TENThe NolenPrepkitchen Little Italy, Provisional Kitchen, Pueblo, Spike Africa's, Water Grill.

It's probably best to make your reservations for San Diego Restaurant Week as soon as possible, because many places will fill up. It's extremely easy to secure your spots right from the SDRW website at sandiegorestaurantweek.com or on the App for Android or iPhone. Happy dining!!
