Tijuana-style hot dog specialists Doggos Gus, which opened this year inside Twisted Taps in the University Heights area of San Diego, is now offering the SanDiegoVille Dog, a spicy special created in collaboration with us! Best part is that when you order the SDV Dog, you get another hot dog for free! That's two dogs for the price of one!
Earlier this year, Gustavo Tonella took his mobile hot dog stand and installed it within the craft beer-centric Twisted Taps, taking over the food component at the family-friendly bar and restaurant. His menu offers an array of bacon-wrapped dogs served on steamed bolillo buns, as well as a selection of burgers, tortas, pizzas, salads, nachos, wings, and shared plates that pair perfectly with the list of 32 local craft beers on tap (all priced at $6).
We have teamed up with Doggos Gus to create the SanDiegoVille Dog, a bacon-wrapped hot dog topped with carnitas, grilled onions, jalapenos, habanero barbecue sauce and pico de gallo. Can't deal with the spice? Feel free to make a couple modifications but make sure to order it by name! The hot dog is $6 for the Classic, $7 for all-beef, and $8 for the uncured grass-fed sausage. Ordering this special creation activates a buy-one-get-one-free promotion, resulting in the diner being able to order any other equally priced hotdog on the menu free of charge! The SDV Dog special runs until November 30.
Twisted Taps & Doggos Gus is located at 2302 El Cajon Boulevard and is open Monday through Thursday from 4-10pm, Friday from 3-10pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 10am-10pm. Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 4 to 6pm. The restaurant and bar have a pet-friendly patio and five flat-screen televisions that show all major sports, including offering the NFL package.
