George's California Modern To Close Next Week For Two Week Refresher

October 25, 2017

The main restaurant of three separate concepts that encompass George's at the Cove in La Jolla, George's California Modern will close its dining room for the first two weeks of November so that the farm-to-table fine-dining restaurant can receive an interior refresh.

Opened by George Hauer in 1984, George’s California Modern will receive a nearly half-million dollar overhaul from Tuesday, October 31 until Tuesday, November 14, which will include kitchen upgrades, a new staircase and other interior fixes and modifications. Although George’s California Modern will be under construction for half of November, the rooftop Ocean Terrace and mid-tier Level2 bar, which both received an upgrade last summer, will remain open.

During the closure, Executive Chef and Partner Trey Foshee will be sending his staff, including chef de cuisine Jonathan Bautista and sous chef Brad Chance, as well as sister restaurant Galaxy Taco’s Chef Christine Rivera, to participate in the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival.

Georges at the Cove is located at 1250 Prospect Street in La Jolla. For more information, visit georgesatthecove.com.
