Point Loma's Sessions Public To Become Royale | Former Pop-Up Vendor Royale With Cheese Goes Brick-And-Mortar

November 12, 2017

Heading into the Point Loma standalone building that last housed Sessions Public is Royale, the first brick-and-mortar burger-centric restaurant from the team behind popular pop-up eatery Royale With Cheese.

A nod to the iconic Pulp Fiction film, Royale With Cheese was first founded in Austin, TX by husband-and-wife Jordan and Mariah Brownwood. The company initially ran the food component at University Heights' Park & Rec when the bar first debuted in 2015. The new Royale project has a long list of partners, including Park & Rec and Waypoint Public partner Andy Zlotnik and former Sessions Public owner Abel Kaase, who also operates Beerfish in University Heights.

Royale is currently receiving a full interior redesign, hoping to be ready to open by year's end. The restaurant will serve a menu of grass-fed beef burgers on Sadie Rose buns, as well as tots, charcuterie boards, sandwiches, and other casual snacks. Behind the bar, custom cocktails will be the highlight, as well as nearly a dozen taps of craft beer and wine on draft.

Royale is expected to open at 4204 Voltaire Street on the border of Point Loma & Ocean Beach by the end of 2017/early 2018. For more information, visit royalewithcheesesd.com.
