San Diego's Buona Forchetta To Open Location Within Petco Park For 2018 MLB Season

February 20, 2018

One of San Diego's favorite spots for Italian eats is opening an outpost within Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. Buona Forchetta will offer an array of woodfired pizzas to baseball fanatics this MLB season.

Buona Forchetta is joining the likes of San Diego culinary giants Carnitas' Snack Shack and Hodad's as they enter Petco Park for the 2018 season. The award-winning South Park ristorante, which was opened by native-Italian Matteo Cattaneo in early 2013, has been packing the house since day one, so it is no surprise that they continue to expand. Last year, Buona Forchetta opened an offshoot dubbed Officine Buona Forchetta in Liberty Station, with another on the way for Encinitas this Spring, and we also announced that the company would be opening a classic Italian bodega with a marketplace, dubbed Enoteca Buona Forchetta, at some point this year, offering fresh pasta, lasagna, dough and other specialty items for takeaway doors down from the original location. Buona Forchetta is also taking over the space currently occupied by El Cordova Garage in Coronado for the opening of Garage Buona Forchetta, anticipated to debut in 2019.

Buona Forchetta's Petco Park branch will be located in Section 104 across from Donovan’s Wines at the Park and will offer an array of Neapolitan-style pies by the slice or whole pie. The eatery will also serve beer, wine and gelato. The menu will be available during Padres games and Petco Park concerts.
