From co-founder Jelynn Malone and co-owner/head roaster Mike Arquines, Mostra Coffee just celebrated its 4 year anniversary and due to its incredible growth, the company outgrew their operation of just a couple days a week at their roasting warehouse in Carmel Mountain to now serving every day at the new café and retail store located at 12045 Carmel Mountain Rd. #302 in the Home Depot Shopping center between See’s Candies and Grub Burger Bar. Mostra Coffee is also known as a top choice for San Diego brewers, boasting more than 200 collaborations with craft breweries throughout San Diego and nationwide like Saint Archer, Abnormal Beer Company and the iconic Stone Brewery.
"There aren't a ton of specialty coffee roasters in this neighborhood, let alone specialty coffee shops, so we are excited for everyone to come by for some freshly roasted specialty grade coffee!", exclaimed Malone. "It is exciting and surreal to have a business in the neighborhood we grew up in!”
Mostra Coffee Café offers an eclectic menu of specialty coffee made from some of the most prestigious coffee beans from around the world brewed by the Mavam espresso maker, by ‘pour-over’ or cold brewed. Mostra’s legendary Crème Brulee Latte, Bibingka Creme Brulee Latte and Campfire Latte are some of the specialty espresso favorites also featured on the menu along with specialty loose-leaf hot tea and Mostra’s signature series of cold brews like the ‘Choco-Nana’ and ‘One Bra-zillion Coconuts.’ Freshly roasted bags of coffee beans and bottles of the signature Cold Brews are also available for purchase every day. Breakfast and pastries will be offered daily by Nutmeg Bakery and Nina Marie Designs as well as lunch selections by Supernatural Sandwiches, a San Diego seafood sandwich hotspot that is also in the process of opening a location in Little Italy.
Mostra's Grand Opening event is set to start at 9am on Saturday, February 10 with a special bottle release of their highly sought after Signature Series Cold Brew, Nilla Killa and brand new Nilla Killa variant, Cocoa-Nilla Cold Brew. The beautiful ‘English Industrial’ inspired design of the café showcases the only Mavam espresso machine in San Diego and it’s built into a lower bar-top to give an engaging and visually immersive customer experience of the brewing process.
